Each participant will be allowed to bring ONE regular size
bag and a bookbag/briefcase. Please be advised that ALL items will be searched at check-in. Items not
allowed in the facility will be removed and returned upon your checkout.
Orientation by an MDS
Pharma Services Study Manager is conducted at check-in. The orientation
includes an explanation of what you will experience during the study, a review of the study schedule, an optional tour of
the facility and the expectations of the study participants.
Items to Bring
- Government Issued I.D. / Picture I.D.
- Towels, washcloths
- Shampoo, conditioner, soap
- Toothbrush, toothpaste

- Brush, comb
- Razor, shaver
- Blow dryer, curling iron
- Lotion, deodorant

- Bring loose-fitting, comfortable clothes. Short sleeves are recommended for blood sample collection
and vital signs.
- Bring a sweater, jacket, or sweatshirt as the facility is maintained at a cool and consistent temperature.
- For your health and safety, shoes must be worn at all times.
- Bring adequate clothing for the length of your stay. We do not have laundry facilities for study participant
use. For long-term studies (5 days or greater), arrangements will be made for your laundry.
Optional Items You May Bring
- Personal pillow and blanket (pillow and blanket
are provided).
- Appropriate reading materials such as books & magazines.
- Board games & puzzles.
- Game System.
- Padlock to secure your belongings in a locker.
- MP3/CD players with headset.
- Cellular phones without cameras.
- Arts and crafts projects.
- Stamps and stationary.
- Laptop computer.
Items You Should Not Bring When you arrive at MDS Pharma Services, you and your belongings will be checked for inappropriate
items (items that affect your absorption rate, or that could be considered dangerous or irreplaceable). The following is a
partial list of items you should NOT bring during your stay at MDS Pharma Services:
- Candy, gum, food
- External speakers
- Prescription or over-the-counter medication unless permission from the Admissions
Department or Study Manager has been given.
- Any item listing alcohol as an ingredient (including hairspray, skin astringents, etc.)
- Water bottles or any kind of drink container
- Mouthwash
- Any items listing an SPF or sunblock as an ingredient

- Weapons, pocket knives
- Large amounts of money
- Valuables
- Any item labeled as "medicated", including Chapstick, Carmex, Blistex, acne face wash / lotion
/ topical.
- Nail polish remover and nail polish
- Cologne or perfume
- Cameras or video cameras
- Movies or DVDs
- Cell phones with cameras
- Any items not labeled

MDS Pharma Services is not liable for any personal items
you bring onto our premises. It is best to leave all items of value at home.
Mail may be sent from the facility by
giving it to an MDS Pharma Services associate. If you need to receive mail from home while participating
in a study, ask a friend or relative to bring it to you.
